Objective

Students
• can identify and analyse the specificities of care for children and adolescents
• take into account cultural factors and family diversity in the planning, implementing and assessment of nursing care
• can apply their knowledge of pharmacotherapy for children and adolescents (planning, implementation and evaluation)
• can identify and propose development challenges in nursing care for children and adolescents
• can analyse, apply and evaluate national and international evidence-based research on the specificities of care for children and adolescents
• can evaluate child, adolescent and family nursing care in accordance with ethics and the principles of sustainable development

• specificities of child and adolescent care in different care environments
• family diversity and different cultures in the care of children, adolescents and families
• specificities of pharmacotherapy for children and adolescents

• evidence-based research on the nursing care of children, adolescents and families

Qualifications

Suitable for nurses, public health nurses, and midwives to deepen and update their skills, or for health sector university of applied sciences students who have already completed the relevant professional basic studies in their degree. The requirement for transitioning to advanced studies is approximately 120 credits or another specific reason agreed upon with a study counselor. Open university students should have equivalent knowledge (a corresponding course from another university of applied sciences or sufficient work experience as a nurse).

Recognition of prior learning (RPL) is possible only if the student has a previous nursing degree or equivalent higher education studies leading to a nursing degree.
