Objective
Students 
•	know how to analyse Christianity as a religion and an object of study
•	are familiar with the creation of the Bible and the central contents of the New Testament
•	are familiar with the main lines of thinking in early Christian history and theology as well as their significance in shaping Christianity
•	are familiar with the early historical and theological basis of diaconal work and Christian education  
•	know how to prepare and hold religious services for the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Finland
•	are familiar with the concepts of Christian spirituality and are able to reflect on their own spiritual identity
                    
Content
•	religion and theology, faith and knowledge   
•	the Bible as a collection of books and the creation and contents of the New Testament   
•	history of Early Christianity and the basics of a classical interpretation of faith   
•	historical and theological basis of diaconal work and Christian education   
•	Christian spirituality, devotional life and spiritual identity
