Opiskelija osaa suunnitella kirjoittamista ja harjaantuu tuottamaan ammattikorkeakouluopiskelussa tarvittavia erilaisia tekstilajeja.Opiskelijaosaa antaa palautetta tekstistä ja osaa hioa omaa tekstiään saamansa palautteen pohjalta. Opiskelija osaa referoinnin perusteet. Opiskelija tietää Diakin lähteistämiskäytännön ja osaa käyttää lähteitä tekstissään. Opiskelija tunnistaa oman kirjoittamistyylinsä sekä omat vahvuutensa ja heikkoutensa kirjoittajana ja ymmärtää, miten omaa kirjoitustaitoaan voi kehittää.
