Objective
I can communicate basic information about myself in Finnish. I can use the basic phraseology of everyday life situations. I identify some aspects about the Finnish everyday culture and habits.
The target level is A1.1 in Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.
Content
Introducing oneself, greetings, asking and answering, alphabets, numbers, countries and languages, weekdays, elements of Finnish culture, fundamental structures of Finnish language e.g. vowel harmony, personal pronouns, verbtype 1, consonant gradation in nouns, negative sentence.

Study materials will be provided during the course. In addition you can use the study book Suomen mestari 1 by Gehring & Heinzmann (new edition).

Self-study course online. Independent work on Moodle platform. Teacher's guidance is available during the course.

The course is assessed through oral and written assignments and demonstrations of competence. More detailed criteria and scoring are provided in Moodle.
