Objective

Location and time

1 September–31 December 2026: Metropolia Moodle online course.
Continuous enrolment between 1 August 2025 and 30 November 2026.
Moodle will be opened to students on 1 September 2026.
The online course does not include compulsory scheduled meetings.
Moodle assignments are completed in the given order; however, progress through the study unit can be at one’s own pace. Teachers will review completed work once a month.

Materials

The course will be delivered in Finnish. The study materials will be provided in the Metropolia Moodle learning environment. The materials are based on the following recommendations:
Health and Joy from Food – Early Childhood Education Meal Recommendations 2018
Sustainable Health from Food – National Nutrition Recommendations 2024

Teaching methods

The study unit is completed independently online in Metropolia’s Moodle learning environment, without being tied to a specific time or place. The modes of study include self-directed study materials and related learning tasks. The materials and reflective tasks involve reading, listening, and writing.

Student workload

In the 1-credit online course, you will study independently. One credit corresponds to 27 hours.
