Location and time

The study unit may be completed between 1 September and 31 July 2027. The learning environment is Moodle, to which the student is automatically directed after enrolment.

Materials

The study unit textbook:
Cameron, Esther & Green, Mike: *Making Sense of Change Management: A Complete Guide to the Models, Tools and Techniques of Organisational Change.*
It is available from Metropolia Library both as a printed book and as an e-book.

In addition, Moodle contains supplementary materials as well as reading and listening recommendations.

Teaching methods

The study unit is delivered entirely online as an independent, non-stop course in Moodle. Study progresses in modules according to the student’s own timetable.

In each module, the student familiarises themselves with selected materials (e.g. articles, videos, and other expert content) and completes a reflective or applied assignment related to the theme. The assignments are connected to the student’s own working life or experiences and support the structuring of their thinking.

During the study unit, the student analyses their own operating environment, examines phenomena related to change management from different perspectives, and applies the principles of inclusive and fair leadership to practical situations.

At the end of the study unit, the student consolidates their learning in an applied assignment in which they identify areas for development in their own practice and define concrete measures.

The course provides the student with an understanding of change management theory and practical solutions. They find ways to apply what they have learnt in their own context. The student’s self-reflection and critical thinking are strengthened.

Employer connections

On the course, knowledge is applied to one’s own work or other environment, and participants engage in discussion with professionals from other fields.
